Bio
Katherine obtained a B.S. in Earth Science with a concentration in Climate and the Environment from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2014. She received her MS degree in Environmental Studies (Science Emphasis) from the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Fall of 2017. For her thesis, she used a quantitative biogeochemical model to investigate how perturbations in climate affect plant community growth in areas of the alpine tundra with distinct microclimates. Katherine joined RSS in February 2018 and is working toward improving sea ice estimates derived from microwave brightness temperature.
