The Remote Sensing Systems team has updated the Cross-Calibrated Multi-Platform (CCMP) gridded surface vector winds dataset from July 2015-May 2016.
Starting from August 20, 2016, the SMAP winds are processed in Near-Real-Time at Remote Sensing Systems. The SMAP Level 1 orbital antenna temperature observations are produced by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and distributed by the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
RSS has implemented a correction for a problem affecting SSMIS F17 37V. Anonmalous behavior in the reciever gain for the 37GHz vertically polarized channel was corrected with reduction in data loss going from apporixmately 50% lost to no greater than 5%.
New ASCAT V2.1 winds are now available for browsing and download. Please be sure to read the ASCAT Product Update Notes for more information.
To improve data access, we have placed CCMP V2.0 data on a second ftp server, ftp2.remss.com/ccmp.
